Members are nominated through an annual prayerful discernment process and serve three years as an active voice of parishioners, consulting with the pastor to assist him in various aspects of parish life, except financial matters. Member terms are offset so that each year several positions open up. This provides a wonderful balance of fresh ideas brought in by new members and tried and true experience shared by “veteran” members. Active commitments are required to participate.
Public Forum is scheduled at the beginning of each Pastoral Council meeting. Parishioners are welcome to comment or voice concerns on parish business at this time. Please limit comments and concerns to two minutes per person.
Parish Council meeting minutes are posted both here and on the CCE building bulletin board (near the water fountain).
The Finance Council consists of six members (the chair, 4 members, and a Parish Council representative), who are committed to active participation in Finance Council activities. Parishioners with strong financial background and an interest in helping the parish can be considered for appointment to serve a 3-year term, assisting the Pastor in financial matters and decisions.
Members help parishioners to get involved and serve in various areas where their participation is needed and appreciated. Their use of God’s gifts and talents make Sacred Heart a strong and energetic Church that reflects Christ’s mission to us.
Volunteers are talented parishioners who assist in the daily, weekly, monthly upkeep and maintenance of the Parish facilities. If you have these talents and want to share them with Sacred Heart, please contact the parish office.
A team of volunteers assists the office staff by inserting pages into the Sunday bulletins and by helping to handle the overflow work load in the office on an as-needed basis.
Adults and high school students (age 16 and older) provide child care during the 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. Masses and other parish functions. Attendance at “Protecting God’s Children” workshop is required.
